Spanish for Ministers

This blog has been created to assist those who are in the ministry and are trying to reach out to the spanish community. It has come about after spending countless hours on the internet and in the book stores trying to find websites and/or books that are focused on spanish for use in the church, in the pulpit, on the streets, or anywhere you might find yourself trying to witness. I am not fluent and many times just "get by". I do have a desire to share God's word with the spanish community.

Thanksgiving Day Spanish Words and Phrases

Happy Thanksgiving all. I hope that you are having a wonderful time. I thought that today would be a great time to bring you some words and phrases related to Thanksgiving.

corn - maíz
corn on the cob - elote
cranberry sauce - salsa de arándanos
Happy Thanksgiving - Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias
     There are a couple of funny phrases that are said more as a joke.
          Feliz Día del pavo - Happy Turkey Day
          Feliz Día del Guajolote - Happy Turkey Day
harvest - cosecha
indian - indio
pilgrim - peregrino(a)
pork - cerdo, puerco
stuffing - relleno
sweet potatoes, yams - batatas
turkey - pavo, guajolote
