This blog came about after spending hours in the book stores, libraries and internet searching for spanish that was religious in nature. I found spanish books and pages online that related to everything from sports to food to slang to "naughty spanish". You name it.
While many people search for the books that give you all the "dirty words" I was constantly searching for that one book that would directly help the minister, service leader, outreach director and/or anyone who had a desire to reach out to those who only speak the spanish language.
As I mentioned in my blog description, many times I just "get by". Most of my learning has been through trial and error. It has also come from different sources. I have purchased many books trying to learn spanish that would one day help me to be able to preach in spanish. I also learned alot by asking coworkers, friends and relatives. My brother in law has suffered many headaches trying to explain to me why the spanish language says some things the way it does. Another thing I would do was to find songs that appealed to me and try to interpret what was being sung. Songs will expose to you different ways of saying the same things. When I came across a phrase or word that I didn't know, I would go through my many different resources to find the translation. I learned quite a bit of spanish this way.
As you can see, I do not possess any kind of degrees in foreign language. But that has not suppressed my desire to learn and help others. There will be no ego in my posts. I am simply hoping to help someone be able to better express themselves to those they are trying to reach out to. Let me say up front that I will probably make mistakes here and there in this blog. But that is part of the learning process. I have found that mistakes that are corrected usually aren't easily forgotten.
